RECORD REVIEW- THE SOLD & BONES, FULL CIRCLE SUICIDE

The Sold & Bones, sounds like a rather unusual band name, however, it makes perfect sense.
The Sold, is a Los Angeles based Blues influenced, Punk band, fronted by guitarist/vocalist "Easy" Lou Jones. Sold founding members, Jones, and bassist, Charles La Ferrera, have now teamed up with original LA Punk, Billy Bones, on lead vocals, and drummer, Justin McGrath, hence the new name, The Sold & Bones.

The Sold, recognized by many as the first Punk Blues Band, was formed in 2010. Mr. Bones, goes back a bit further, coming out of the Sunset Strip Glitter Rock scene, he joined with drummer, Sten Gun, plus Marc and Bruce Moreland, to form The Skulls, a favorite at the original Masque club, located in a basement, under the West Hollywood Pussycat Theater. Later, the Moreland brothers went on to form Wall of Voodoo, while Bones launched his new band, Martini Ranch, and then later, the Billybones.

For this new album, Full Circle Suicide, Jones penned the well crafted music and lyrics for all ten songs, which are engaging, catchy, bluesy and dance-able. Bones and Jones both contribute lead vocals, and their interplay can be quite complex at times. La Ferrera and McGrath, also contribute background vocals as well, making for an enjoyable mix, on top of the tight musical arrangements.

Standout tracks include:

Don't Trust Money
-
A catchy tune, with fun vocals from Bones & Jones.
I'm Right, You're Wrong- Of course I'm right about this one!
Point & Shoot- This song captures an essence, similar to that of the LA Punk Band, The Controllers. Upbeat and rockin'!
Full Circle Suicide- The title track, a bluesy number, which features "Easy Lou" playing some  wicked blues/slide guitar.
Bored In LA- This Reporter's personal favorite, for obvious reasons ;)

You can pick up this fine new release at one of their energetic live performances, at better record stores near you, or online, at I-Tunes, and make sure to follow the Sold & Bones on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.
